Making the decision to have a child – it’s momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking outside your body.
— Elizabeth Stone

I’m Brooke, I’m a Registered Nurse and mother of two, with a background in Child and Family Health.

Motherhood profoundly shaped both my personal life and professional direction. With my first baby, I navigated breastfeeding challenges, infant sleep, and early medical issues, which deepened my appreciation for advocacy, evidence-based care, and trusting parental intuition. Like many parents, I encountered conflicting advice that felt misaligned with my instincts.

I completed a Graduate Certificate in Child and Family Health and have worked closely with babies and parents across early parenting and clinical settings. During this time, I saw how rigid or outdated approaches can undermine parental confidence.

Finding the work of Dr Pamela Douglas and other academics helped shape an approach that aligned with what I was already practicing and knew to be true - support parents, protect breastfeeding/feeding, and work with infant biology rather than against it.

I’m NDC Accredited, with a focus on breastfeeding, infant sleep, parental mental health, and early parenting support. I have completed Dr Pamela Douglas’ (IBCLC) Clinical Breastfeeding Support courses and trained under Midwife Amberley Harris as a 662 Certified Professional. I’ve also worked in Special Care Nursery and Child Health in the community.

In 2025, I welcomed my much-wanted, beautiful first son. He was born with a rare genetic disease called X-linked Centronuclear Myopathy. He lived nine weeks and one day, and his life, though short, was remarkable - he changed our family forever. As an experienced NICU mother, I understand the challenges of dividing your time, managing the emotional intensity, navigating complex care decisions, and have a lived experience of baby loss and grief.

Through all of this - transition to motherhood, breastfeeding, supporting families, medical issues, NICU experiences, loss, professional learning, and growth - I’ve seen how powerful it is when parents are supported to trust themselves.

Sometimes, we need guidance or reassurance; but parents are the experts in their child. I hope to offer mothers and families a calm, knowledgeable, evidence-based, and deeply empathetic presence to walk alongside them as they navigate the beautiful, complex journey of parenthood.
